Hatha yoga is a popular and widely practiced form of yoga that focuses on physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. It is one of the six major branches of yoga and is often considered a foundational practice for other styles of yoga. Hatha yoga is designed to promote physical health and mental well-being through a combination of physical postures (asanas) and controlled breathing (pranayama).

It's important to note that Hatha yoga is not just about physical fitness; it's also a spiritual practice aimed at promoting a sense of inner harmony and self-awareness. It can be an excellent choice for those looking to start their yoga journey or for individuals seeking a more balanced and centered approach to life.

Restorative Yoga involves coming into more of the ‘yin’ style asanas and staying for longer than you usually would in a more ‘yang’ style class.

The reason we slow down in Restorative and take more time in each position, is to target the fascia and work on a deeper scale. Restorative yoga is a practice of deep relaxation that focuses on the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind.

When the body enters a state of relaxation the mind can also consciously relax as tension is released from both body and mind. The only work that's required on your part during a restorative yoga practice is to pay attention to your breath and become aware of any sensations or thoughts that may arise.
